This is a boring Thursday afternoon and we just found out that our company has been sold to some uknown enterprise limited overseas.

My career has been certainly interesting in the past few years. I have changed 6 full time jobs in the past 9 years, and most of the time the changes were not exactly my choice. What I mean by that is that either the jobs were so uninteresting that forced me to seek other opportunities, or I was laid off.

Sometimes there wasn't simply enough things to do, which fuels the motivation for leaving. I really don't think there is anything wrong with me per se, it is just the job market in this part of Canada. Jobs in the Hi-tech startup field are generally pretty volatile in this city.

That's just the nature of the beast. That's why I have been strongly contemplating to become an independent contractor. I am not using any of security advantages of being a full time employee, so I might as well take advantage of the niceities of being a contractor
